One of the worst stages so far. Rain all day. I walked along industrial areas, along a highway most of the time. Arrived at Aviles already half past twelve. I only saw two pilgrims along the way, but the albergue was already quite full.
Now there are “modern problems” at the albergue. People who charge their bicycle batteries – then the washing machines stop. People who charge their phones, fall asleep and then let them ring in the middle of the night. People using their phone as a handlight at 6 in the morning. As if snorers weren’t enough.
A Frenchman was sitting on the toilet talking on the phone. He seemed convinced that no one could understand French although he lamented that no pilgrims wanted to speak that particular language. As he sounded, I understand if people avoid him.
