Walked from Navarrenx at 7. No cafes or bakers open. Cloudy, couldn’t see the Pyrenees today either. Caught up with Bertrand who had taken a shortcut. A company had arranged a rest place under cover. They had pâté for sale – and camera surveillance. Met Bertrand one last time at a bus stop.
Passed by Aroue. Not so hot but sunny.
Arrived at Huart-Mixe at a quarter to three. Rested on the terrace before the hostel opened at half past three. Then Ines got out of a taxi. She had left Julien and Gaël and hitchhiked to Ostabat. There she regretted it and hitchhiked (with a taxi!) back to Huart-Mixe. She longed to to them.
I saw on a board at the hostel that Julien and Gaël were coming and that we would share the same room. Didn’t think I’d see them again. They were just as surprised when they arrived. We had a beer as usual.
We ate dinner outside. I sat with Bruno, a guy from Moncuq, who was walking with a donkey. An original but nice. He prunes trees and knows a lot about biology. Love animals.
There was not enough food for me, I had not eaten as there was nowhere on the road where I could buy anything.
Then I had a last beer with Julien, Gaël and Inès. I will miss them.
