Didn’t write anything in the diary today. Was too tired.
Undramatic day. But there was a long way to go. It took until Handaye before I could buy some food or drink. In Irùn I couldn’t figure out how to get back to Biarritz or Bayonne by train, no one spoke English.
I had to walk back to Handaye. It was almost 7 pm when I arrived. I was very tired.
On the train to Bayonne there were two American ladies who thought the French were smarter than Americans, they had voted out Le Pen, while Americans voted for Trump. But that wasn’t the worst they thought, they could live with Trump for four years:
– The worst thing is that people have lost trust in the media and science, it will be more difficult to repair, they thought.
They were very angry. And they were so right.
