People started getting up at 6 am. I managed to fall back asleep but woke up again at 6:30. I got up and checked if any cafe in the village was open, but no. And it was still cloudy so you couldn’t see the Pyrenees, so off I went.
No cafe in the next village either. After the village I found a cig on a little rock, in the middle of the path. Realized it was for me, from Bertrand. Walked to a village where there was an old abbey and there I could eat a sandwich and drink a coffee. Then I slowly walked to Navarrenx.
There were some ascents and it was rainy at the end. I arrived at 14 pm. Everything was closed. Luckily there was a restaurant which was open and offered a very good menu for €13, so I had one last dinner with Bertrand. He will stay in Aroue tomorrow and then he and others are walking to Saint-Jean Pied-de-Port, as I will walk west toward Irùn.
