Surprise: 34 km instead of 25. But I don’t get tired in the last walking hour like I did before.
I walked slowly. Cloudy and a little chilly in the morning, Sunny and warm in the afternoon. Can’t pronounce or remember the names of the villages I walked through.
Bought some food in a village. At 12 I was in Espelette. Nice little village and many tourists.
Met an elderly woman picking mushrooms and told me about the surroundings.
I saw the Atlantic Ocean.
Arrived at Saint-Pée at half past three. Started at 6:40 this morning. The hostel is very nice, both outside and inside. Rested as soon as I entered. Philippe, the host, went and bought coffee so I could brew. I ate a menu for pilgrims for €10. Cheap. Same price for the hostel. Thinking of walking to Irún instead of Saint-Jean-de-Luz tomorrow.
Now the sky is blue.
