It was foggy and cold when I started. The wind was strong as I ascended to 1500m and passed La Cruz de Ferro. I had heard that pilgrims leave something from home at the site, and the only thing I had to offer was a coin.
Something amazing happened when I reached the other side of the hill. The sun began to shine through, the clouds dissipated, and Ponferrada and the surrounding mountains emerged from the fog. I was left in awe.
The final kilometers to Ponferrada were challenging. At the albergue, Sara and Alex joined me. Ramon had broken his foot and was staying behind. Alex, Sara, and Jeff from Brazil cooked and ate together.
The frog in the morning is rising and Ponferrada suddenly appears. Wonderful!
Storks. They build thir nest everywhere, if it’s high enough.
