Santiago

Pretty good night. I heard people messing around and thought it was the middle of the night but it was past 7. Overcast, nothing was dry. We had to put wet clothes in the backpack and start walking.

It’s a highway, lots of people. It didn’t get any better with the school classes that were walking. Especially an Italian high school class that was screaming and listening to loud music. Maybe we were unlucky, but I don’t think I’ll be walking the last stages of the Camino Frances again.

The hotel in Santiago, Pensión Vía-Stella, lives up to expectations. Had sat on the front terrace when I arrived in 2019 and thought it seemed like a good place to stay. I also liked the man who served in the hotels cafe, he took care of everyone and smiled at everyone. It felt genuine. The square in front of the hotel is also nice.

We rested a while and then we went out to drink a glass of wine to celebrate that we had arrived. Not so warm. Then it was time to stroll and eat well for two days.

Let’s see if there will be more caminos. I never thought it would be three.
