A day in Lugo. We walked all around town on the Roman wall. Walks in the old town and extra muros. We visited the Museo Provincial. We thought we should rest today, but we walked about 20 kilometers.
After lunch we saw Jan sitting on a terrace on the Plaza Mayor. We had a beer with her and then we went to the cathedral. Not so fun. I don’t like Spanish churches, too flashy, gold everywhere. Architecture for the nouveau riche, which they were when they built these churches.
Then we went to the museum about the Roman wall which was interesting.
Then we had a last beer with Jan and it was time to say goodbye to her for this time. Sad, I don’t know when we can see each other again.
After resting a bit at the hotel, we had some tapas and drink a beer at a bar nearby. €16. Felt expensive. Later in the evening we were in a bar Rua de la Cruz. It was called Barros. There we got the same amount of tapas and a glass of much better wine for just under €6. And the staff was very nice. They asked what wine we wanted and suggested one.
To bed shortly after 10 pm. 20 kilometers to go tomorrow.
